Tornesch is a gorgeous stallion with a long neck and an extremely refined head. He has beauty and reactivity of an Arabian combined to the power and cold mind of top warmbloods. As a member of the Swedish showjumping team, he jumped for many years at the highest international level with Malin Baryard-Johnsson and impressed with his easiness, cleverness, suppleness and willingness.
Tornesch had an eye injury in his youth that compromised his vision in his right eye. He had about 30% sight in that eye, but he did just fine moving up the levels with Baryard-Johnsson. After the 2013 Rolex FEI World Cup Final, Tornesch injured the eye again while breeding and had it removed. Tornesch healed quickly and went back to the show ring, better than before the surgery.
He began his breeding career in Sweden in 2006 and was honored in 2013 as the “Best up and coming stallion”, due to his stellar showjumping career and the quality of his offspring; to name a few Turmalin approved stallion in Sweden, Chanel 438, Crimson (CSI5*), High Cherokee (CSI3*), Hot Stuff (CSI3*), Konrad, Li Torimo, Little Tornado, Nila Matell (CSI3*), Tittut (CSI3*), Top Flite, Toronto…

Tornesch’s excellent pedigree goes back to three of the world’s best stallions: Lux Z, Libero H and Caletto I.
His sire, Lux Z, was a great international Showjumper. He participated to the European Championships in 1999 and 2001, World Cup final and Sydney Olympics in 2000. In 2002, he finished 17th at the World Equestrian Games in Jerez. Lux Z is a son of Lord Calando, who is the brother of the Champion Carthago Z and son of Lord, sire of numerous winners.
Lux Z has almost 200 offspring winners in CSI and CSIO.
His Dam Ninerta is a daughter of Libero H whose more than 25% of offspring compete at the international level : Libertina (with Jessica Kürten), Lolita H (with Toni Hassmann), Maike (Jessica Kürten), No Mercy (Christina Liebherr), Luc (Michel Robert), Liberty (Laura Kraut), Nirvan (Gianni Govoni), Libera (Jos Lansink), Numero Uno (Marco Kutscher), Ustinov...
His 2nd dam Inerta is a daughter of Caletto I, very good CSI winner and sire of top international winners and sires like Cantus and Calvaro CSIO.

TYPE OF MARE AND OFFSPRING

Tornesch’s pedigree combines the best European showjumpers bloodlines (Lux Z x Libero I x Caletto I) to top thoroughbred sires:  Rantzau appears three times, Ladykiller twice, Marlon once.
During his sport career, Tornesch always remained sound. He combines strength and suppleness.
He is a gorgeous horse with a long neck, a nice tiny head and big clever eyes. His head is often compared to the one of an Arabian horse, which is pretty rare in the current sporthorse world.
He pairs well with mares with enough size who needs blood.
He transmits his blood, nice type, excellent mind, willingness, suppleness, great canter and carefulness over the fences, to his offspring.

Tornesch’s first crop of offspring born in France and the Netherlands are very promising. The 6YO stallion Hanley (Tornesch x Cornet Obolensky) was the 2017 reserve champion of his age group at the 2017 KWPN stallion competition finals.
Tornesch is approved with the Selle Francais, KWPN, Oldenburg, Hanoverian and Holsteiner studbooks.
