Walton Cup Welcome Speed Class 1.10-1.15m, August 2014

Val finished 5th of a crowded class of 25 under pouring rain. This was his 3rd show at this height, at only 5YO.

Val d’Ajol is a 6 year old imported Selle Francais gelding.

He has a natural beautiful jumping technique and shows scope and respect over the fences.

He successfully competed in the 4YO Young Horse classes in France before being imported in May, 2013. Val has been carefully brought along and is currently shown in the 1.10m-1.15m classes and High Child/Adult. He knows his job, gets in the show ring and carries his rider to the jumps. He handles new challenges with confidence and is very brave. Val will jump everything you put in front of him including the open water.

Val d’Ajol does not mind escaping a 4’6” fence to meet friends in other pastures.    Val is very talented and will be a serious competitor in the upper level Jumpers. He has a wonderful work ethic. Also Val has a super sweet personality. He is easy going, a very fast learner. He has no vices and has great ground manners. He ties, bathes, loads, trailers. He gets along well with other horses. He has a full set of clean x-rays on file. Val d’Ajol comes with a lifetime USEF/USHJA registration.

Val d’Ajol Dan was bred by Elevage de la Lande. His sire is CSI **** champion Selle Francais Marquis de la Lande. Ridden by Franck Schillewaert, Marquis de la Lande won numerous European Grand Prix such as the Royan, Sandillon, or the Copenhagen Grand Prix in 2011, he finished 2nd, 3rd and 3rd of the Grand Prix in Barbizon, Hardelot and Fontainebleau in 2012. Marquis de la Lande passed away in 2013. Marquis de la Lande was by Quito de Baussy, another show jumping legend.  Under the saddle of Eric Navet, Quito was a Gold medalist (team and individual) in the 1990 World Equestrian games in Stockholm, Gold medalist (individual) in the 1991 European Championship in La Baule, Bronze medalist (team) in 1992 Barcelona Olympics, Bronze medalist (team) in the 1993 European Championship in Gijon, Silver medalist (team) in the 1994 World Equestrian games in La Haye. He earned close to one million dollars during his career.

The mother line of Val d’Ajol has produced great winners including Taylor Platiere, Devinette d’Elle, Canteloup…

Val d’Ajol is a truly special horse - the perfect horse for someone who wants to compete at the highest levels of the sport, but doesn't have the $$$,$$$ to spend on a top-level horse.

Val d'Ajol attended the 3-day George Morris clinic held at Heathman Farm on April 24, 25 and 26, 2015. "The Master" rode him and said he was a "wonderful and very well schooled" horse. No need to say this kind of comment is worth more than a ton of blue ribbons as it validates the very hard work of the New Normandy Farm team.   Price will increase proportionally to training and show mileage.
